Strong Start’s pre -kindergarten programs offer a unique opportunity for children aged 3- 5 years. Children build age-appropriate skills within a positive environment that inspires them to become engaged and motivated learners!
About the event
Strong Start’s Pre-K program is the perfect environment to prepare your child for kindergarten. Children aged 3Y – 5Y develop confidence and skills to attend school on their own, while being exposed to holistic and interactive learning opportunities.
Our well-rounded curriculum covers Art, Literacy, Math, Science and Physical Education. Our class lessons are curated to fit each child’s needs and support children’s physical, language, cognitive and social-emotional development.
Pre-K programs are hosted at Strong Start’s open and safe learning environments at our sites in Spring Valley & Lavington.
What to Pack for Your Child:
- Snacks & refreshments
- Extra change of clothing
- Comfortable shoes
- Art smock (if you have one; it’s okay if you don’t – all paints are water based and washable)
- Child essentials (underwear, potty, wipes, etc)
- Weather appropriate clothing (i.e. sunhat, rain jacket, boots, sweater, etc)
PRE-K Classes:
- Monday – Football – Art & Exploration – Football
- Tuesday – Basketball – Science & Loose Parts– Music & Movement – Dance
- Wednesday – Obstacle Course – Early Math Skills – Messy Play – Nature
- Thursday – Gymnastics – Nature & Garden – Library – Cooking
- Friday – Athletics – Football – Preferred Choice
Timing Schedule:
- 8:45am – 9:15am: Drop Off & Free Play
- 9:15am – 9:30am: Activitiy 1
- 10:00am – 10:20am: Reading & Literacy
- 10:20am – 10:35am: Snack & Recess
- 10:35am – 11:30am: Activitiy 2
- 11:30am – 12:00pm: Activity 3
- 12:00pm – 1:00pm: Lunch
- 1:00pm – 1:45pm: Growth Mindset Games
- 1:45pm – 3:00pm: Activity 4
Classroom Etiquette:
- This is an outdoor based class! Please dress your child appropriately for the weather! Winter/Rainy Weather Recommendations: Socks (2 pairs), sweaters, rainboots, jackets, hats
- If your child displays any cold or flu symptoms, please keep them at home! If your child or nanny comes to class with any cold or flu symptoms, they will be separated from the group and asked to go home.
