Strong Start’s Pre-Kindergarten program helps children aged 3–5 years develop key skills through a nurturing, play-based approach. With a well-rounded curriculum in Art, Literacy, Math, Science, and Physical Education, the program supports each child’s physical, cognitive, and social-emotional growth—building confidence and a love for learning.
About the event
Strong Start offers a wonder-filled Holiday Camp for children aged 6 months to 5 years where each week offers a new themed adventure designed to spark creativity, inspire imagination, and support whole-child development through hands-on play.
Weekly Immersive Theme Calendar
Week 1:
March 30 – April 3
Little Nature & Discovery Camp
Children explore the wonders of nature through sensory play, gardening activities, nature walks, and simple science discoveries. Little explorers learn about plants, insects, and the environment while building curiosity and confidence.
Week 2:
April 6 – April 10
Mini Creators Art & Expression Camp
A colorful week of creativity where children paint, craft, build, and express themselves through art, music, and imaginative play. Activities encourage creativity, self-expression, and fine motor development.
Week 3:
April 13 – April 17
Animal & Storybook Adventure Camp
Stories come alive through animal-themed tales, dramatic play, storytelling circles, and themed crafts. Children explore their imagination, build language skills, and develop a love for books and storytelling.
What to Pack for Your Child:
- Snacks & refreshments
- Art smock (if you have one; it’s okay if you don’t – all paints are water-based and washable)
- Child essentials (comfortable shoes, extra change of clothing, diapers, wipes, blanket or shuka)
- Weather appropriate clothing (i.e. sunhat, rain jacket, boots, sweater, etc)
- Apron for nanny (we get messy!)
PRE-K Classes:
- Monday – Football – Art Explosion
- Tuesday – Basketball – Science & Loose Parts – Music & Movement
- Wednesday – Obstacle Course – Early Math Skills – Messy Play
- Thursday – Tumbling & Gymnastics – Nature & Garden – Library
- Friday – Athletics – Football
Timing Schedule:
- 8:45am – 9:15am: Drop Off & Free Play
- 9:15am – 9:30am: Circle Time
- 9:30am – 10:00am: Activity 1
- 10:00am – 10:20am: Reading & Literacy
- 10:20am – 10:35am: Snack & Recess
- 10:35am – 11:30am: Activity 2
- 11:30am – 12:00pm: Activity 3
- 12:00pm – 12:20pm: Lunch
- 12:20pm – 12:30pm: Tidy Up & Goodbyes
Classroom Etiquette:
- This is an outdoor based class! Please dress your child appropriately for the weather! Winter/Rainy Weather Recommendations: Socks (2 pairs), sweaters, rainboots, jackets, hats
- If your child displays any cold or flu symptoms, please keep them at home! If your child or nanny comes to class with any cold or flu symptoms, they will be separated from the group and asked to go home.
